Internships

LOCATE FINGER LAKES Internship Program

The Locate Finger Lakes Internship Program provides qualified students with the opportunity to learn by participating first hand in a number of business and entrepreneurship activities.

This work will include projects focused on the marketing and rebranding of the Finger Lakes Region as a place to conduct business. Interns will undertake projects relating to the promotion of a region as a place of innovation and new product development.

Interns will be exposed to a number of aspects of business economics including:  case studies demonstrating examples of entrepreneurship; the industry site selection process; local, state and federal economic development initiatives; analysis of the region’s economic assets; production of business marketing, messaging and development of business promotional materials; understanding of the interrelationships of business with major universities and technical centers and their role in research, innovation and new product development.

Interns will also be involved in the development, management and promotion of a regional new product entrepreneurial competition that will be sponsored by the Locate Finger Lakes and other businesses in the region.
