Jeff Shipley

President and CEO of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce

Jeff ShipleyJeff Shipley is the President and CEO of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, a position that he has held since 2010. During that time, Shipley has helped transform the Chamber into one of the largest business advocacy organizations in the Finger Lakes region. The Chamber currently represents over 500 member businesses and tourism partners throughout an eight-county geographic area. Its programs and publications have received both national attention and statewide awards.

In 2012, the Chamber became the state’s first licensed health insurance brokerage. Today, it helps provide access to health insurance options for businesses and individuals throughout the Rochester and Syracuse regions and has become the preeminent licensing model for the New York State Division of Financial Services. Under his leadership, the Chamber has been a strong advocate for improving the business climate in upstate New York. In 2019, Jeff was elected Chairman of the Board for the statewide Chamber Association. He continues to serve in that capacity and is focused on bringing needed growth and development to all Chamber communities across New York state.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Shipley worked for CHA companies in Rochester, NY (a design-build engineering firm), the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection in Canandaigua, NY (Ontario County’s official Tourism Promotion Agency) and the New York State Assembly in Albany, NY (working as a media and policy coordinator). Shipley is the co-founder of the Finger Lakes Young Professionals and serves on the board of directors for the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency, the Seneca County Economic Development Corporation and the Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee to the Finger Lakes Regional Airport. He lives in Waterloo, NY with his wife Abigail and their adorable cat Bowden.
