Locate Finger Lakes is proud to launch the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) to ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship in students across the Finger Lakes region. Locate Finger Lakes launch two YEA! chapters in the Finger Lakes region to be held at Cayuga Community College and Finger Lakes Community College.

Cayuga Community College and Finger Lakes Community College seek motivated students for our Finger Lakes YEA! classes. Locate Finger Lakes is a supporter of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) and proudly join YEA!’s talent search for aspiring young entrepreneurs in the Finger Lakes region. With two Academy’s—hosted by Cayuga Community College and Finger Lakes Community College—YEA! has launched their recruiting season for motivated students who are creative and interested in learning about how to launch a business between the ages of 11-18 who may be interested in applying. The regular tuition is $995 per student, but with generous funding from sponsors such as Lyons National Bank LNB, Locate Finger Lakes has insured accepted students will attend tuition-free!

Selected applicants will be taught the “magic formula” on how to come up with a great idea, pitch to investors, get real funding and launch a real business or non-profit in less than 100 hours! The Young Entrepreneurs Academy has successfully produced kids who have appeared on the hit TV show Shark Tank, featured in the New York Times, USA Today, Good Morning America, INC.com, Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes and more. YEA! graduates have also been awarded millions of dollars in college scholarships, millions in venture capital VC funding, and have gone on to graduate from the best business schools in the world.

The YEA! Finger Lakes Community College and Cayuga Community College Application Deadline is October 12, 2018. Classes will meet one time per week beginning late October and graduating in early June. Classes take place at Cayuga Community College Wednesday’s from 4-7 pm and at Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday’s from 9-12 pm. Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to apply to either location.

Since 2004, over 9,000 students between the ages of 11 and 18 have launched more than 6,000 real businesses and non-profits, cool inventions, and fun ideas! YEA! students have been featured in national magazines, TV shows, on the news and in the local papers. For more information, visit here.

As a proud business partner of the local Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), we are excited to announce that YEA! is now accepting applications from the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of the members of our company and clients for their upcoming class! YEA! is a national, non-profit organization that teaches and empowers students ages 11 to 18 to launch and run their own, real, small businesses through an exciting, projects-based program. In partnering with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, YEA! has generously offered to provide a discount to any of the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of our employees and clients who apply!

The ultimate goal of this organization is to encourage entrepreneurial education and action at a young age, as well as provide students with the opportunity to compete for college scholarships at the National YEA!
