Finger Lakes named one of 10 must-visit wine regions in the U.S.
Go ahead and wine about the Finger Lakes.
The Finger Lakes, the dreamy Upstate New York region renowned for its seemingly endless wineries, vineyards and glittering lakes, has been named one of the 10 must-visit wine regions in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best. The region ranked No. 4 on the list of the nation’s best wine regions, falling behind Paso Robles and Temecula Valley, both in California, and Colorado’s Grand Valley.
The “picturesque” Finger Lakes region was recognized by 10Best for boasting over 130 wineries, many of which focus on Riesling, and three American Viticultural Areas. The distinct grape-growing regions — Finger Lakes, Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake — are proudly included on the label of each bottle of wine.
Being named one of the nation’s top wine regions wasn’t the only honor recently bestowed on the Finger Lakes.
The Finger Lakes is home to the best-rated winery tour in the U.S., an experience offered at the award-winning Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery overlooking Keuka Lake, according to USA Today’s 10Best readers.
